Welcome. I wanted to provide stripboard layouts I've made to help people new to electronics and even the more experienced get into different aspects of electronics.
I verify the layouts before I post them.

Rez Overdrive Stripboard Veroboard Layout
I've been working on a lot of projects recently which I couldn't really post on here due to complexity etc.
but today I thought I would try and design something for my blog using one of the cool parts I got from Linear Technology
and thus born was the Rez Overdrive which you can use on guitar (demo at bottom) or synths etc.
the Whole circuit only draws 2.45543mA (yes, I got a 6.5 digit meter recently - it's a Keithley 2015 THD - check it out if you like multimeter porn)) so in theory it will last a hell of a long time if you use batteries.
Also I added D1 as an afterthought to protect the circuit from reverse polarity accidents - so it isn't on the schematic.

Build me one and I'll say thanks in my own way to Linear Tech. If you refuse or claim a component shortage on your behalf then I will have no choice but to rassle you in a rassling match...Worst part is you know I will keep good on that one which doesn't leave much choice for you does it? So a rassling match with me or make me one
ReplyDeleteand that's the bottom line 'coz Dean Cold said so
lol.... watch out paul, dean is gonna throttle ya!!
ReplyDeleteok, so i built this. couldn't find the damned chip spec'd, so went with the usual single OA's. i don't know if it's the gain, but to me, it sounds less like an overdrive, and WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY more like a goddamn near perfect WAHWAH!!
seriously! ;)
running an ne5534 in it right now... maybe the dif is the amount of gain available?
one mod i did find was a diode clipper across the output pot (is it supposed to work as a master volume? i am getting basically nothing til almost off, i don't think i'm "grok"ing why you have it wired like this) with a pair of them ultrabrite led's. it doesn't change the tone much, but does help add a nice compression and sustain, and i'm a veritable sucker for flashing lights....oooh!! shiney!!
was thinking maybe with the addition of the led's it may open a door to further experimentation, maybe trigger a delay or modulation when the lights flash?
or maybe i'm smokin' too much of that pernicious shit again
ANYWAYS, worst case, it's a hell of a wah wah. nice and formanty, like the classic old shin-ei kinda jap wahs... gonna try and stuff it in a wah shell and see how it flys.
talk soon paul, this one's a keeper!
