Welcome. I wanted to provide stripboard layouts I've made to help people new to electronics and even the more experienced get into different aspects of electronics.

I verify the layouts before I post them.

EMF Ghost Detector Stripboard Veroboard Layout

I'm not a big believer in ghosts and all those paranormal reality shows only ever seem to film ghosts with no other aspiration than to knock on stuff however EMF is something I find interesting because we're surrounded by electro magnetic radiation (whether or not you believe it's paranormal is up to you) and I wanted to build a EMF detector - so I did and here it is.

there is an audio output so you can hear/record the actual EMF being displayed on the meter.
it's quite important that you have the pickup inductor mounted away from the device (as you can see in the picture) because you don't want to pickup the EMF of the device (not that there's much of it!)

so if you go out ghost hunting with this - make sure you send me the pictures of the places you're hunting cause I love abandoned places.
and if you record anything weird send me a link!

    1. I didn't build the probe - it's just a 1mH inductor (like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Low-Current-Radial-RF-Inductor-Choke-1mH-/290947961189?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item43bdd99165 )
stuck on the end of a tube

  2. Hi Paul! Im a long time lurker here... I built quite a few of your designs... this is the first time i have a small problem. i built this one and it works good but when i connect my earphones the readings get very different.. slower and less sensitive... any ideas? Thanks for all good veros!

  3. yes - that does happen. it's because loZ earphones load the signal down so it affects the movement.
I am semi-working on a better one that drives earphones separately
but it's not a problem with your build - it's just the design in general

    1. you could build 2 of them and leave the meter off the second one!

    2. Aha! Why didnt i think of that? I will build two of them and use the same inductor for both... one for the meter and one for the earphones. Thanks for the tip Paul!
