I went to the shop yesterday hoping to buy 2 Amptweaker Defizzerators for a recording session but of course; they only had 1, so I bought 1 and reverse engineered it. it's a passive circuit so you get a bit of loss and I may work on a buffered version at a later date but for now;
enjoy.
Hello, Paul. Great work. I have a question regarding this schematic. The way I see it, with the switch in the middle position, the pot have no effect. Shouldn't C1 be connected to SW2 instead of GND?
ReplyDeletethis is how it was on the original, the "fizz" option is the highest range so it's fully on because it's not too noticeable anyway, the other 2 options are where you need the control. either way, both of the boxes sound the same.
Deleteit was quite a nightmare to trace out cause the switch they use is some weird selector.
Ok. Thank you for the verification. Keep up the awesome work and all the success for your band.

ReplyDeleteHi Paul,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this!
Just a question - On the pot is SW2 going to pin 1 or pin 3 of the pot?
Cheers!
I'm wondering how you have it labeled; is crackle SW3 and buzz SW1? I've not used a defizzerator, but can't seem to find them anymore so I guess I need build one. Also wondering about the paint scraped off on the bottom cover; did you ground it to the chassis instead of just to the input/output jacks?
